i wanted to like this place because of the great reviews that they received. I even gave it 2 tries thinking maybe the first time was just a bad day. The salsa was way overpowered with cilantro, and I love Cilantro. My cheese enchiladas were still very cold in the middle (the cheese was still cold and shredded) as was that of my co-workers. Just was not as good as some of the other mexican restaurants around. Dont think I will go back.

Great food. Have had top notch service both times we have eaten here. The chips and salsa are yummy. Portions are large and the food is fantastic. Parking and seating or limited but well worth the wait.

Today they didn't get our order right! Food was great but not what we wanted. So I would suggest to go over delivery order again with them.

I love Angelina's! They have the best Chili Relleno's I've ever had and amazing, fresh salsa. My man and I go here quite regularly. I only wish they would get their liquor license, so my Mexican dining experience would be complete.

Fresh made salsa and guac were very nice. California Buritto with steak was huge and tasty, beans were also very good. Flour taco's with chicken were also fantastic. Just a tiny little place with cool Mexican sounds playing in the background. I will definitely be returning.

Good food. Small location. Great prices. Their Taco al Carbon was delicious. Skip Taco Bell's new "cantina tacos" and visit Angelina's for their Taco al Carbon. Same concept (lime, steak or chicken, soft corn shell), but way fresher and tastier. Chips were so-so, but salsa was perfect. Their carryout menu/specials are what really stuck out. Lots of choices (6 tacos, 6 chimichangas, 6 enchiladas, etc) ranging from $4.99 to $9.99.

Small restaurant in a strip shopping area. First impression - they charge for refills for chips and salsa. Not a problem if you dine alone; but, if you have a group of four you'll likely get hit with this surcharge. Pepsi products for beverages. The iced tea smacked of instant rather than brewed with the lemon flavor already added. The chips appear to be made on-site: thick crisp and non-Greasy. Two types of salsa, again appear to be made on-site. The Mango Chicken is not fancy but is a nice find (never seen anywhere else). The refried beans were molten or a purée. Prices are reasonable.

There is no other choice when considering Mexican food in AP this place is delish...so happy Angelinas came here. Will never eat at the bland Mexican place on the other side of town again..not the bell, the hut!

The place is great. It's our new go to place for carry out. Food is good. Portions are good. I'm hooked on the California burito with fries. I will never finish it in one setting.

This is, in my opinion, the best Mexican restaurant downriver. We eat here almost every week, it's that good! Location/decor : 3.5 stars...The restaurant is very tiny, I think there are only 5-6 tables in there, sometimes if you come at a peak dining hour, you might have to wait for a bit until a table clears, but its so worth it! It's always very clean in there though and the wait staff is great. Food: 5 stars!...They bring you fresh, hot chips and homemade salsa as soon as you sit down. They will ask if you want hot or mild salsa, we always tell them we want both and mix the two for a perfect blend. Everything there is very authentic Mexican (the owner also owns a Mexican restaurant in Mexican Village in Detroit, I think). They always have lunch specials, like different soups and also breakfast specials (chorizo and eggs, menudo soup, etc)...most of those aren't my thing, but my fiancé loves them. Some of my favorite things to order are: Enchiladas Suizas (classic enchiladas with cheese & onion, beef, or chicken, with a tangy green sauce on top), California Burrito (huge burrito with cheese, guacamole, rice, beans, beef or chicken, lettuce tomato and sour cream), Camarones a la Diablo (shrimp simmered in a very spicy red sauce with peppers and onions, served with homemade flour or corn tortillas), Botana (Corn chips with Avocado slices, onion, tomato, green pepper, cheese, chorizo). Their Fajitas are great, too (Chicken, Steak, Shrimp). All menu items come with fluffy spanish rice with finely diced peas and carrots mixed in, and refried beans. Accompany that with a Mexican Coke (comes in classic coke glass bottle, and has a sweeter taste than american coke), or a Mexican soda (Jarrito) and you have a feast for days! They also have a good dessert menu, which changes a lot because they make them fresh, but I have had the Flan and Fried Ice Cream with Chocolate Syrup which were both great. They do not serve alcohol, which is just a tiny downfall...sometimes I would love a beer or margarita with my meal. Prices are very inexpensive ($5-6 for Lunch Specials, and $7-15 for regular menu items). They have a kids menu, and carry-out too.

Good chips and salsa for starters. The combo plate (burrito, taco, echilada was good). Warning - the cheese enchilada is quite cheesy!

The salsa is so fresh you can tell it's homemade. The hot is spicy but still has a lot of flavor. The chips are also very good and are very fresh. I can make a meal just out of the chips and salsa. They have a big menu. I've only gotten carry-out here but I think you can eat there too. This is a great place that's survived in a spot where many businesses have come and gone. I hope this one lasts for a long time. Check out this place before you go to one of the many chain Mexican restaurants in the area.

We ordered food catered from Angelina's for our rehearsal dinner. It was delicious and everyone loved it. I recommend eating here or putting in a catering order for your next party!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
